- Be understanding of your needs as a student and as an individual and be caring and efficient in its dealings with you.
- Give you clear and timely information, in written and web-based form about admission requirements, curricular objectives, courses of study, and methods of evaluation.
- Create opportunities for your engagement in educationally purposeful activities which lead to quality learning.
- Facilitate your access to computing, library and other academic services.
- Provide tutorial support and continuously monitor your progress in education
- Offer counseling support.
- Manage a responsive system for redressing your grievances.
- Inform and guide you about opportunities available for higher studies and also the different career options.
- Involve you in decisions affecting you by providing for your representation, via the Handique Girls’ College Students’ Union and through membership in the various Institutional Committees handling student’s matters.
- Forge with you a life-long partnership in learning.

As a student you will:: |
- Be aware of and appreciate the Institutional goal.
- Be courteous in your dealings with the staff of the College and your fellow students.
- Use all opportunities that the Institution provides for your self-development.
- Read and retain all information the College provides, check notice boards, and ask for clarification of any information you do not understand.
- Help create an atmosphere conducive to learning.
- Attend all lectures, seminars, tutorials, laboratory classes and other teaching sessions.
- Complete promptly the academic works requested of you and appear in all examinations.
- Be a willing participant in the different ways of teaching, learning and assessment.
- Take the responsibility to seek the support you believe you need and seek advice when your academic progress gives you reason for concern.
- Support the representative role of the Handique Girls’ College Students’ Union and consider acting as a student representative yourself.
- Provide feedback for improving the learning environment, when it is sought.
- Retain a life-long association with your College.
